“Because we’re a quarterly magazine we’re celebrating Earth Day a little early,” explains Dee Middlebrooks-Bernal, Editor in Chief of VA Today Magazine, “The vast majority of our subscribers favor a digital format, and the balance prefer a traditional print edition. So, we’re reducing our carbon footprint by giving the gift of a digital issue to all of our subscribers.” The full-featured digital format includes page flip technology and live links to advertisers inside an adjustable frame for easy viewing. Ms. Middlebrooks-Bernal continues, “As offsite independent contractors, VAs already believe in a greener way of work. Modesto, California – November 12, 2009 Today the North American Virtual Assistant Association announced that it is now the North American Virtual Assistant Headquarters. The change comes after several months of industry research and projections, and includes a new look and new format for the VA association.

Previously an association that offered basic memberships, ethics testing, and certification exams, as “NAVAA” the organization reflected the standard design of associations within the virtual assistant industry. NAVAH’s new name represents a new direction. As the North American Virtual Assistant Headquarters, the association has chosen to focus on “progressive” virtual assistants through self-paced programs and exercises with an emphasis on individuality and independence. “Originally, we were content being a part of the traditional style of VA association,” says Dee Middlebrooks-Bernal, Chairwoman of NAVAH, “However, we quickly discovered that that format is outdated and no longer relevant to today’s virtual assistants. Virtual assisting is no longer a business, it’s an industry. If those of us in the field don’t start treating it that way, the entire profession risks being labeled a fad and fading into irrelevance.”

Claiming the position of “the new face of the VA industry,” NAVAH’s aim is to evolve with the rapidly growing virtual assistant market through “barrier-free” career development that is custom designed for each association member. Ms. Middlebrooks-Bernal explains, “You can’t measure personal success using someone else’s standards. If a VA is doing that, she’s working overtime trying to achieve someone else’s dream. Her business will likely never reach its full potential and she won’t feel fulfilled. At NAVAH, we’ve thrown out the faceless virtual assistant business model. We provide customized personal success models.”

NAVAH’s FastTrack and Path Builder programs are available exclusively through the North American Virtual Assistant Headquarters website. For more information, go to www.virtualassistantheadquarters.com or contact Media Relations at media@1522productions.com

About North American Virtual Assistant Headquarters: North American Virtual Assistant Headquarters provides virtual assistants with resources and direction to enhance their skills and build profitable practices. NAVAH is also the publisher of VA Today Magazine, the first print publication for the virtual assistant industry.
